OPENING FINGERPLAY: Open Shut Them
This version of “Open Shut Them” is a great kids song for teaching some basic opposites. It’s full of easy-to-understand, easy-to-gesture vocabulary.

BOOK: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? is a children’s picture book published in 1967. Written and illustrated by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle, the book is designed to help toddlers associate colors and meanings to objects.

FLANNELBOARD  ACTIVITY: We placed flannel figures on our storyboard as we read the book.
